Data Management Security Standards

The information we are gathering may be sensitive. Should it fall into the hands of those who are hostile to the research project and/or its partners, people’s lives and/or livelihoods could be placed at risk. Therefore, to encourage trust, Data Management Standards as are required by the EU are promoted. l:

  1. Separate all personal information (interviewee name, contact information, etc.) from responses given to questions about church activities. Contact information will be maintained in an encrypted database held physically separate from questionnaire answers.
  2. No paper questionnaires will be maintained. All data noted on survey forms will be entered electronically and kept on secure servers and paper notes will be destroyed.
  3. All electronic storage devices will be encrypted.
  4. All storage locations will be password protected.
  5. Data will only be made available to trusted partners and without personal information. Specific information will be made available for local use only.
